So I just found another Paris blog, by the editors of Le Monde: http://aparis.blog.lemonde.fr/aparis/
Darn if they haven't gone and taken some of my ideas for future posts-- for example, Sunday afternoons at the Canal Saint-Martin. Plus they have the advantage of actually being in Paris this summer, while I'm just sitting here in the U.S. dreaming.
I was particularly interested in the schedule of concerts for "Fnac Indetendances"-- free, outdoors on the Pont de Sully. Today, there's a concert by Dominique A with Alain Chamfort. I'm not sure that Dominique A's particularly tenebrous rock is quite the thing for a summer night, but I would love to see that. Also, there's a Jack the Ripper concert next Saturday-- our Jack was the darling of France Inter this Fall with his single, "I was born a cancer." Despite the iffy English, it was lots of good fun and that's another concert I'd love to see.
