Sennelier on NPR

This morning on NPR's Morning Edition, there was a lovely report by Susan Stamberg on Sennelier, the art store on the Left Bank known for providing materials to Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters.

Listen to it here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5581725

The story brought back memories: When I visited Paris at the start of my junior year abroad in Montpellier (also a very nice city), one of the first things I did-- well, it was after the obligatory Louvre visit-- was to go to Sennelier and get a pad and some pencils. I wasn't confident enough with my French at the time to chat with the salespeople, just say I was browsing, At the time, when I had been doing quite a bit of painting and drawing, it was enough just to be there.
